Summary of the SwyxServer Installation



1	Hardware	Make certain that the necessary hardware conditions have been fulfilled For further information please refer to chapter Hardware Requirements.
2	Software	Check whether you have the necessary software, e.g. Windows Server, Firewall or virus scanners. For further information please refer to chapter Software Requirements.
3	Network	Check your network in order to guarantee interference-free transmission. For further information please refer to chapter Network requirements.
4	Installation of the ISDN Cards	For access to the public ISDN (SwyxGate), install the necessary ISDN cards. For further information please refer to chapter Installation of the ISDN Cards.You will find the necessary test programs in Tools & Traces.
5	Voicemail	You will need an SMTP capable mail server for the Voicemail functionality. SwyxServer sends the voice mails via this to the users. When installing SwyxWare you will need the name of the mail server, e.g. Mail.firma.com. For further information please refer to Mailserver for Voicemail.
6	Database	Install the database for user administration, along with the necessary software .Net Framework 4.5.1. For further information please refer to chapter Install Microsoft SQL Database.
7	License Key	Have your license keys ready for the installation. You will find this key on the license certificate, which was sent to you as a PDF. For further information please refer to chapter SwyxWare Licensing Procedure.
8	Standby scenario	If you want to install a standby scenario, please create a domain user account for the system administrator before installation. For further information please refer to chapter Preparation for Installation.
9	Number plan	Plan the topology of SwyxWare before installation, and design a number plan (e.g. for company headquarters and branches). For further information please refer to chapter Numbers and Number Mappings.
10	Installation of SwyxServer	Run the SwyxServer installation. Enter all purchased license keys, including the keys for the option packs. For further information please refer to chapter SwyxWare- Run Setup.
11	Installation of the SwyxWare Administration	Then install the SwyxWare-Administration in order to configure SwyxServer. For further information please refer to chapter Installation of the SwyxWare Administration. You can also install the SwyxWare-Administration on another computer. (see chapter Installation of a SwyxWare component on an additional computer).
12	Configuration of SwyxServer	For details of how to change SwyxServer settings after installation, please refer to Chapter The Global Configuration of SwyxServer.
13	Create users and groups	For details of how to set up new users and groups after installation, please refer to Chapter Configuring SwyxServer global settings.
14	Scripts	When carrying out the first configuration, adapt the scripts to the conditions in the company. For further information please refer to chapter Scripts.
15	Setting up connections	Setting up connections to the outside world • ISDN Set up the access to the public telephone network (PSTN). For further information please refer to chapter ISDN connections. • SIP Trunk You need to have the access data for the relevant SIP provider. 16	Install a Desktop Client and SwyxPhone	Install the telephony client or telephones of the SwyxPhone family on the workstation computers. For further information please refer to Chapter Connection of SwyxPhone and SwyxIt! and the SwyxIt! documentation.
