Updating the SwyxConnect Software
This section describes the updating of the SwyxConnect firmware. The description refers to SwyxConnect 1722, 1723 and 1724. For a downgrade of the firmware version, please proceed in the same way.
You will find the current firmware for the different SwyxConnect variants together with the LAN tools (LANconfig and LANmonitor) at
http://www.swyx.com/service-support/support-downloads.html.

Devices purchased from Swyx can only be updated with firmware from Swyx . A switch from Swyx firmware to LANCOM firmware is not possible. However, the configuration tools can be used for both software versions.
This is how you update the SwyxConnect firmware from the website
1. Connect SwyxConnect in your local network (LAN).
As delivered, SwyxConnect automatically determines whether a DHCP server is already present, which will assign it an IP address. If no DHCP server is present, SwyxConnect starts its own DHCP server and can be reached afterwards on the IP address 172.23.56.254.
2. You can then update SwyxConnect either directly using the web browser or with the supplied Lanconfig Tool.
3. Enter the IP address of SwyxConnect in the browser's address line (http://172.23.56.254, or with DHCP server installed in the network, the IP address it assigned: http://<DHCP-assigned-IP>).
If you use an independent DHCP server and DNS server, you can also reach SwyxConnect under the name LANCOM-<MAC-address>. You will find the MAC address on the underside of the device.
The main SwyxConnect menu appears in the browser.
4. Click in the menu on "Upload New Firmware".
5. Enter the file name and path for the new firmware version directly, or search for it.
6. Start the firmware update by clicking on "Open".
7. SwyxConnect restarts after the update. The new firmware is used after the restart.
*
Please do not switch off the device during the firmware upload, or disconnect the power.
