10.6.2 ProviderProfile.config
The profiles for the trunk groups are specified in this file. When creating a trunk group, you can choose depending on the trunk type from various preconfigured profiles (13.1.2 The "Profile" Tab).
These profiles define how Swyx interprets phone numbers for incoming calls and converts them to Swyx's internal formats, as well as how Swyx's internal phone numbers are transmitted externally for outgoing calls.
Example:
You select the profile "Standard DDI" for an ISDN trunk group. This is a profile for a direct dialing-in line to ISDN with the assignment:

The telephone network usually delivers the numbers in the following format:
<Country code><Local area code><Subscriber number><Extension>
Depending on local circumstances, it could also be e.g.:

If a Swyx user (+49 231 4777 225) calls a public number (e.g., 0221 3456 555) via this ISDN trunk, the following interpretation applies:This is an outgoing call. Swyx interprets the caller's number (225) as an extension and signals it as such to the ISDN line. The dialed destination number is recognized as a subscriber number of the public network (a subscriber, 024 3456 5555) and is passed in this form as a destination to the public network.
If a subscriber (024 3456 555) calls from the public network and his number type is not recognized, then the called number (destination number) is interpreted as an extension, and forwarded to the internal subscriber with the extension number 225.
