3.11 Web Extension
With Web Extensions, SwyxIt! allows you to display a website or web application directly on the user interface. To do this, the Web Extensions must be created and configured, and then assigned to the appropriate users or groups.
Depending on the configuration, the assigned Web Extensions can be displayed in the following ways:
*Widget: The Web extension can be added as a widget to the SwyxIt! Home screen, see 3.3.2 Adding widgets and sections. This is the default display type for Web Extensions unless the administrator configures otherwise.
*Menu item: The configured Web Extensions are displayed in the menu bar and appear in a corresponding tab on the SwyxIt! user interface, see Menu Bar.
*fixed window area: When SwyxIt! is started, the web extension is displayed to the assigned user on the right of the SwyxIt! user interface in a static window area. This window area cannot be hidden and remains visible regardless of the tab currently selected in the menu bar.

Changes made by the administrator to the configuration of a Web Extension will not take effect until SwyxIt! is restarted.

If a user is currently using a deleted Web Extension, it will remain visible until the user restarts SwyxIt!.
The message Unknown Web Extension will then appear in the corresponding widget.

For more information on creating and configuring Web Extensions, see the Swyx Control Center documentation.
