Configuration of SwyxConnect
After installing the hardware and defining the basic settings, further SwyxConnect parameters can be defined, such as the connection to SwyxServer and the user.
Download the current configuration tool "LANconfig Tool" from the Lancom website:

This is how you configure SwyxConnect
1. Start LANConfig Tool from the start menu.
A summary of all accessible SwyxConnects appears.
2. Select "Setup Wizard" in the context menu (right mouse button) of the SwyxConnect that you want to configure.
The Setup wizard for the new SwyxConnect will start.
3. Select "Configure connection to SwyxWare".
Click on ”Next ”.
4. Read the introduction and the requirements.
* 
A complete number plan is required for the configuration of the Call Manager.
Click on ”Next ”.
5. Country
Choose the profile you want from the selection list.
6. SIP configuration
Enter the SwyxWare realm and, if applicable, the registrar and proxy. The server port is 5060.
All SIP telephones are then automatically logged in to the SwyxWare.
Click on ”Next ”.
7. SIP Authentication for SwyxWare
For the SIP connection to SwyxServer, enter a user ID and perhaps a display name, along with a user name and a password for authentication purposes.
Click on ”Next ”.
8. PSTN Interface
Configure the local ISDN line(s). You have these options:
*No connection to the public network
*Connection to the public network over an analog interface (ANALOG)
*Connection to the public network over an ISDN (ISDN 1)
Click on ”Next ”.
9. Create SIP User
The data of the SIP accounts is needed in order to log the users on to SwyxWare and locally to SwyxConnect.
Click on the "SIP Users..." button if you want to configure these.
An overview of the "SIP users" opens up. Here you can add, edit, copy and remove SIP users.
10. The entry for a new or selected user opens up.
*Activate the user entry.
*Internal no./User ID
Take the user's MSN for this. This action ensures that incoming calls are signaled to this user even if the connection to the SwyxServer is not available.
*Comment
You can give additional information on a SIP user here.
*Authentication Data of SIP Client/End Device
Then enter the logon data (SIP-authentication name and SIP-password) for the SwyxWare user.
*Device type
Select the appropriate device type (telephone, fax etc.).
*Close the configuration of the user with "OK".
11. Create ISDN User
For all ISDN devices that should be usable on SwyxConnect, an ISDN user must be created.
Click on the "ISDN Users..." button if you want to configure these.
The "ISDN Users" window opens. Here you can add, edit, copy and remove ISDN users.
*Activate the user entry.
*Internal no./User ID
Take the user's MSN for this. This action ensures that incoming calls are signaled to this user even if the connection to the SwyxServer is not available.
*Display name
This name is shown on the display.
*Comment
You can give additional information on a SIP user here.
*ISDN Parameters
MSN/DDI
Enter here the MSN (Multiple Subscriber Number) or the extension (DDI - Direct Dial In).
DDI refers to the direct dial from a telephone network to a subscriber. The MSN or DDI given here is used as the fallback case for outgoing calls.
ISDN/BRI bus
Select the ISDN/BRI bus interface to which the device is connected.
*Authentication data for the SIP telecommunication system (here: SwyxWare)
PBX SIP Domain/Realm
Select here the SwyxWare domain or the realm, or input the data.
Authentication name / Password
Enter here the SIP user name and the SIP password for the user.
Confirm your entry with “OK”.
Remember that the MSN of the ISDN device and the MSN in the field "Internal no./user ID" must be identical. The MSN must also be entered in the ISDN device.
12. Internal ISDN Interface
Now configure the internal ISDN interface for the connection of local ISDN telephones.
In the selection list, select the interface for the internal ISDN devices.
Then as protocol select the entry "DSS1 NT".
13. Configure analog users
Click on the "Analog Users..." button if you want to configure these.
The "Analog Users" window will open. Here you can add, edit, copy and remove analog users.
*Activate the user entry.
*Internal no./User ID
Take the user's MSN for this. This action ensures that incoming calls are signaled to this user even if the connection to the SwyxServer is not available.
*Display name
This name is shown on the display.
*Comment
You can give additional information on a SIP user here.
*Analog parameters
Choose the analog interface in the selection list.
If you wish, activate suppression of your own number display.
If the "Pulse" option is activated, information is transmitted about the costs arising during a call, and is converted into a charge display.
The analog line must support this function in order for pulses to be displayed.
*Authentication data for the SIP telecommunication system (here: SwyxWare)
PBX SIP Domain/Realm
Select here the SwyxWare domain or the realm, or input the data.
Authentication name / Password
Enter here the SIP user name and the SIP password for the user.
Confirm your entry with “OK”.

*Device type
Select the appropriate device type (telephone, fax etc.).
*Close the configuration of the user with "OK".
14. Public Line Access
Enter here the number that must be dialed to in order to reach the public network.
Please choose the same public line access as was configured for the location of the corresponding SIP gateway trunk group in SwyxServer.
15. Call Forwarding (Call routing; LANconfig only)
If this page of the wizard should open, skip it.
16. You have given all the necessary details for the configuration of the connection to the SwyxServer.
Click on Finish to apply the settings. This completes the installation of SwyxConnect.
