Prerequisites for optimal use of SwyxIt! Mobile 2013
To ensure that SwyxMobile functions smoothly, it is necessary to set a few of the provider's functions in advance.
Deactivation of the mobile provider's mailbox service
To avoid degradations between the mailbox service and the voicemail service that is provided by SwyxWare, it is advisable to switch off your provider's mailbox service altogether. This ensures that all voice mails are held under your email account, and you never have to call your mobile provider's mailbox.
Keeping the mobile number secret
The mobile phone number should be kept secret, to avoid direct calls to the cell phone. It is better to circulate your office number. All calls should be forced to go via the MobileExtensionManager.
Disabling of the "Secondary Call" function
To prevent calls that come in directly over the GSM network while you are on a call via the MEM, the "Secondary Call" function should be disabled. This configuration setting on the mobile phone does not affect the possibility of making several calls at the same time on the mobile phone via the MobileExtensionManager service.
Two-digit internal numbers
If a SwyxWare installation has only two-digit internal numbers configured, calls that are dialed directly from the SwyxIt! Mobile interface will be delivered. Calls that are dialed from the native telephone application, e.g. from the contacts, are often interpreted by the provider as special service inquiries.
Further information can be found in the Knowledgebase under
SwyxIt! Mobile cannot be used with 2-digit internal numbers (kb3922)
Server-side deactivation of the recognition tone (#)
If the MobileExtensionManager should put a call through to a mobile device, it sets up a connection to this device. The original call is not connected to the mobile device until acceptance of this call has been confirmed with the # sign. This procedure serves to prevent a caller being connected to voicemail on the mobile phone.
If SwyxIt! Mobile is installed on the mobile phone, acceptance with # occurs automatically. (This does not apply to SwyxIt! Mobile for iOS und Android.)
If a call is made from a mobile phone without SwyxIt! Mobile, the user has to actuate the # button manually. Furthermore, in very noisy environments, e.g. near machines, it can happen that the input # is not correctly detected as a DTMF tone. For these users the acceptance of a call can be simplified, so that the MobileExtensionManager does not wait for the input of #, connecting the call immediately after the connection is established.
This is how you activate/deactivate the # recognition of the MobileExtensionManager
1. Start the SwyxWare-Administration and log on to the SwyxServer.
2. Click the SwyxServer entry with the right mouse button to open the context menu.
3. Select “Properties”.
The "General" tab appears.
4. Enable/disable recognition of #.
* set the check mark
if there should be a wait for the # sign (Default).
*remove the check mark
if there should not be a wait for the # sign.
*
The setting "Wait for hash on connect" is only valid after a restart of the MobileExtensionManager.
If # recognition is deactivated in the MobileExtensionManager only and a call is accepted with SwyxIt! Mobile, this DTMF tone is played by SwyxIt! Mobile. Since the MobileExtensionManager no longer waits for this sign, but connects the call at once, the caller hears this DTMF tone at the beginning of the conversation. In this case, disable the recognition tone in SwyxIt! Mobile too (see Deactivation of the recognition tone in SwyxIt! Mobile (#)).
*
If # recognition is deactivated, it is not possible to prevent calls via the MobileExtensionManager being forwarded to voicemail. Deactivate the voicemail (see Deactivation of the mobile provider's mailbox service).
Deactivation of the recognition tone in SwyxIt! Mobile (#)
If SwyxIt! Mobile is installed on the mobile phone, acceptance of a call with # occurs automatically.
This means that callers who call the mobile phone directly also hear the recognition tone.
If no acceptance signal is required on the server side (see Server-side deactivation of the recognition tone (#)), this signal can also be deactivated in SwyxIt! Mobile. Open the "Advanced Settings" menu in SwyxIt! Mobile, and change the parameter "Recognition tone" accordingly.
